Message There's a time and place for going fast. If you choose to do it on the street, I don't think anyone here is stupid enough to not know the potential consequences. If you get caught breaking the law, then it's your own damn fault.

I lost so much faith in humanity when I went to traffic court a few months back. I was contesting a citation that I was issued for being the victim in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident, and the officer that wrote me the citation said she had to because the only witness that stopped didn't see the actual incident, but she said up front that she wouldn't be there to argue my contest. Sitting there waiting for all the argued contests to be settled, while everyone tried to tell the judge why he should believe them over the officer that wrote the citation, was extremely frustrating. I wanted to bash my head against the wall every time I heard, "Well, no one was coming either way when I got to the stop sign..." or "There was only ONE no u-turn sign on my side of the road, but there were TWO on the other side, so how is it fair that I didn't get the same amount of warning they had?" One guy even brought in a felt board with the velcro stickey plants and street signs to display how the sign was blocked by a shrub.

Do radar detectors work? Sort of. You know the cop's there pinging you at nearly the same moment the cop knows your exact speed.

It's not like Z's, or any other full-blooded sports car, aren't cop magnets. If you're in such a hurry, try leaving 5 minutes earlier. It'll save you hundreds, put less strain on the car (every time you boost, from a calvinist perspective, is one less time those turbos will ever boost again), and save your go-fast jollies for the track, or for when you know it's safe.

Rant off. =)
